Impressionist Movement
Discussion
Artists and Art Appreciators:
please join us as Dr. Molly Gwinn discusses the
Impressionist Movement.
In the late 1880s, French and American artists
flocked to Giverny, a small village on the Seine
River, to work with the master of plein air
painting, Claude Monet. The lecture will focus on
the attractions of the landscape, characteristics of
the Impressionist style, and the works of artists
John Singer Sargent, Theodore Robinson, and J. Alden
Weir.
The public is welcome. No charge.
Appropriate for adults and young adults.
Sunday, March 28 2:00 to 3:00 pm
